Providence College extends remote learning through October 3rd

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – After consulting with the Rhode Island Department of Health, Providence College has announced they will be extending remote learning through October 3rd.

The stay-at home directive that was implemented last Friday for students will remain in effect.

Initial remote learning orders were put in place after a reported coronavirus outbreak on September 16th.

While testing data suggested a decline to Providence College’s coronavirus positivity rate, it also suggested that some degree of spread continues.

Providence College will continue to work with RIDOH to manage the current crisis and ensure community safety.

Administration also plans to work with Providence Police and area landlords to investigate reports of off-campus parties or gatherings.

On-campus activities will remain significantly restricted.
