PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – For the first time in decades, Providence College will be holding its commencement exercises on campus rather than the usual Dunkin’ Donuts Center.

With the Dunkin’ Donuts Center not being an available option this year, the school will have its commencement on campus for the first time since 1975.

The exercises are taking place Wednesday – Friday on Hendricken Field.

The schedule for commencement Week is as follows:

  • Wednesday, May 19 – Commencement Mass at 4:30 p.m. (anticipated conclusion about 6:00 p.m.)
  • Thursday, May 20 – Undergraduate Commencement beginning at 11:00 a.m. (anticipated conclusion about 1:30 p.m.)
  • Friday, May 21 – Graduate and School of Continuing Education (SCE) Commencement beginning at 6:00 p.m. (anticipated conclusion about 7:30 p.m.)

With the recently relaxed covid restrictions, the undergraduate class of approximately 1000 students may invite two guests.

The graduate class of 275 is allowed to do the same.

Providence College will also be live streaming the commencement exercises on their website.
