Providence Comes In at #21 in AP Poll

The Providence College men’s basketball team is ranked No. 21 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 21 in the most recent Coaches Poll.  Both polls were released today (January 17).  The Friars, who entered the polls on December 20 at No. 22/23, have been ranked for five consecutive weeks.

 

The Friars (14-2, 4-1) are off to their best start to a season since 2015-16 when they began the season with a 14-2 mark.  Providence has posted Quad 1 wins at Wisconsin, at home versus Texas Tech, at UConn and at home versus Seton Hall.  The Friars have a NCAA NET ranking of 33.

 

Last week, the Friars did not play due to Covid within the program.

 

The Friars will return to action on Thursday, January 20 versus Georgetown at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center at 5:00 p.m. on FS1.  The team will play its second home game of the week when it hosts Butler on Sunday, January 23 at noon FS1.
