The Diocese of Providence wants to make sure everyone keeps warm this winter, launching a new program to make it easier for donors to help Rhode Islanders in need.

Bishop Tobin is kicking off the annual "Keep the Heat On" program with a new Text-to-Give feature.

People can now use their mobile device to donate. Text "HEAT" to 27722 to donate $10.00, and text "HEATRI" to the same number to donate $25.00.

“We hope that this new initiative will help increase donations for this very important program,” said Bishop Tobin.  “I pray that the Rhode Island community will again support this worthy effort to help those in need keep the heat on this winter.”

St. Ray’s students will join Bishop Tobin in the Navigant Credit Union Gallery, Joseph and Blanche Coutu Theater for the presentation.

Rhode Islanders who need heating assistance may call (401) 421-7833 ext. 207, or log onto www.heatri.com for additional information or to apply online.

In addition to the new texting method, donations can also be made by check to "Keep the Heat On" addressed to One Cathedral Square, Providence, Rhode Island 02903, or visit www.heatri.com and use the secure web server for credit card donations.
