Providence fire forces 2 families from their homes

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Two families were forced from their homes after a fire broke out at a house in Providence early Friday morning.
Firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Petteys Avenue just before 3 a.m.
Authorities said the fire started on the back deck and spread to the back of the house and the attic.
An ABC 6 News crew saw damage to the second floor as crews worked to knock the fire down.
The building was significantly damaged.
The Red Cross is assisting three people — two families — who were displaced.
