Providence Flea returns for trial run in August

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – On Sunday, a summertime staple returns to Providence, but will look a little bit different than what people are used to.

Since closing down its winter and spring indoor flea markets at the start of the pandemic, the outdoor summertime “Providence Flea” is returning to the Greenway along South Water Street.

If you plan to head to the Providence Flea on Sunday, be sure to check the hours because they’re shorter. Vendors and capacity will be limited for social distancing and masks are required.

Maria Tocco, Founder said, “We’re asking them to create a minimalist display so there’s less things that people can touch and handle. They will be asking customers not to handle things unless they’re serious about buying them, just to keep those touch points minimized and keep the spread of germs low.”

Tocco says this is a trial run. Expect the Providence Flea to take place each Sunday in August from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
