Providence homes struck in shots fired incident

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) –  Providence Police were dispatched for a shots fired incident that left bullet holes in at least two homes on Thursday.

According to the department, police were sent to Burns Street for reported shots fired at 7:11 PM.

Police say they met with an adult woman and her son who say they heard approximately nine gunshots near their house.

It was discovered that their house was struck at least two times.

According to the police, one bullet hole was underneath the front right window of the house, and the other was on the left side of the house.

While on the scene, the officers were also approached by a man who lives next door on Admiral Street, and he reported that there were bullet holes in his living room wall and ceiling.

Police spoke to the man’s daughter, and she said she heard 2-3 gunshots outside the house.

In their search, police found 18 shell casings at the intersection of Admiral Street and Wanksuck Street.
