Providence man arrested in fatal hit-and-run

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) – Pawtucket police have arrested and charged a man who fled after hitting and killing 27-year-old Lenon dos Reis on Friday.

Around 9:30 p.m. Friday, Pawtucket police, fire crews, and Rhode Island State Police responded to the intersection of Lonsdale Avenue and Harrison Street for a report of a hit-and-run involving a motorcycle.  The victim, Lenon dos Reis was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car that struck and killed dos Reis was found on Saturday, which led authorities to the suspect.

Robert Rosales, 20, was arrested and charged with duty to stop in an accident resulting in personal injury/death. Police said he was arraigned by a bail commissioner on Sunday and held as a violator.
