Providence man charged with second-degree child molestation

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter Neronha said a Providence man was charged with multiple counts of second-degree child molestation after his arrest in January.

According to court documents, 29-year-old Saron Vongsavang was charged with five counts of second-degree child molestation back in April.

Criminal information alleged Vongsavang sexually assaulted a victim under the age of 14 multiple times on between June and September, 2022.

The Pawtucket Department conducted the investigation into the matter.

Vongsavang is scheduled for a pre-arraignment conference on in July, in Providence County Superior Court.
