PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Providence man was charged with trafficking narcotics in Providence County Superior Court, Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha announced Tuesday.

Geraldo Valenzuela, 30, was charged by way of criminal information with several drug trafficking offenses earlier this month.

State police pulled a car over at about 2:45 a.m. on December 3, 2022 for driving erratically on Interstate 95 in Pawtucket.

Valenzuela, the passenger, reportedly gave troopers inconsistent answers during questioning.

Troopers searched Valenzuela and found a large bag of smaller bags of fentanyl, cocaine, amphetamine, and oxycodone.

Valenzuela is set to appear in Providence County Superior Court on July 21.
