PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police said Saturday a Providence man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Pawtucket.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m. Friday on Interstate 95 south.

Police said a Yamaha sport bike style motorcycle was in the high speed lane on I-95, when it approached the Broadway overpass and entered the left shoulder.

That’s when police said the operator, Christopher Varble, 37, hit the jersey barrier in the center median.

Police said Varble was thrown from his motorcycle and killed. He wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

No other cars were involved in the incident.
