Providence man says bullet went through his living room window during shooting

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE): Providence Police responded to Hammond Street for shots fired, around 12:30 Monday afternoon. The homeowner said he was in the living room, that faces Division Street when his window was hit with a bullet.

According to Major Lapatin,  a witness saw someone in a car pointing a gun towards another car and heard 5 gunshots. The witness said a man was hanging out of the front seat passenger side of a white BMW SUV and was shooting towards an orange or maroon possible Nissan sedan.

The witness believes there was a car chase and saw both cars traveling eastbound on Division Street.

Police found shell casings on Division Street between Hammond Street and Harris Street.

Providence Police are still investigating.
