PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office said Friday that a Providence man was sentenced to life in prison earlier this week for the 2020 murder of Jorge Gonzalez-Colon.

The attorney general’s office said that 20-year-old Felix Rosado-Hernandez plead guilty to one count of first degree murder on Monday.

Rosado-Hernandez was sentenced in Providence Superior Court to life at the ACI.

“In 2020, the defendant perpetrated a senseless act of gun violence that cut short the life of an innocent bystander and forever changed the lives of his family and loved ones,” said Attorney General Peter Neronha.

Rosado-Hernandez shot and killed Gonzalez-Colon on July 1, 2020, while Gonzalez-Colon was working as a contractor on Progress Avenue.
