Providence mayor signs $568M budget

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza signed the city’s budget for the 2023 Fiscal Year Friday morning.
Last week, the Providence City Council approved the budget, which includes decreasing residential tax rate for homeowners, hiring a full-time fire chief, and funding for a new police academy.
Elorza was be joined by City Council members to officially sign the $568 million budget.
