Providence mayoral candidates to address ways to improve city at forum

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence’s democratic candidates for mayor will get a chance to pitch their ideas to improve the city on Monday.

Brett Smiley, Nirva LaFortune, and Gonzalo Cuervo are all expected to attend.

The discussion will focus on social, economic, and environmental issues in downtown Providence.

The forum, moderated by the Providence Foundation, is set for 5 p.m. on the campus of Johnson and Wales University.
