Providence nightclub owner arrested after trying to bribe Board of Licenses

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A Providence nightclub owner was arrested on Tuesday after trying to bribe the city’s Board of Licenses Committee, according to a police report obtained by ABC6.

Daniel Marlo Caraballo, the owner of Lit Lounge, went to Providence City Hall and handed the clerk an envelope containing $2,000 in cash.

The clerk then told his supervisor, who contacted police.

“I think it shows how seriously we take our duties, whenever there is a scenario where someone goes beyond the line we’re on top of it completely,” said Dylan Conley, chairman of the Providence BOL.

Caraballo was quickly put in handcuffs at the end of the meeting.
