Police are still searching for a missing elderly woman who went missing on Christmas day.

73-year-old Anna Martinez was last seen walking from a residence on Curtis Avenue in Providence. She was wearing a white nightgown and a bright green sweater at that time.

Martinez is Hispanic, 5’2" tall, weighs about 160 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. She has dementia, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder, and speaks only Spanish.

On Sunday, Providence Police and Fire launched a raft in the Woonsaquatucket River in search for her. Deputy Assttant Fire Chief Joseph R. Desmarais said the search started near Riverside Park by Manton Avenue and continued down the river into Olneyville. They say Martinez has wandered off before into that area of the woods.

The river search was unfounded and as of Monday, the Silver Alert is still active.

Anyone who may have seen Martinez or knows of her whereabouts is asked to contact the Providence Police Department at (401) 272-3121.
