Providence PD search for three suspects connected to morning home invasion

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Providence Police responded to a residence early Sunday morning with reports of an armed home invasion.

Shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday, Police responded to Public Street after reports of a home invasion.

According to Lieutenant Joseph Donnelly, a male, 20, and female, 21, woke up early Sunday morning to knocks on the front door of their residence.

Upon opening the door, three males entered the room, one of them pointing a gun at the male and female victims. The men proceeded to tie up the male and female residents with cell phone chargers, and ransack the house. The suspects took a number of items before leaving the house.

Also in the house at the time of the incident were two males, ages 59 and 48, and two children, ages 8 and 6 months, says Lt. Donnelly. The children were reportedly unharmed.

Police have not yet located the suspects. It is still unclear if the invasion is connect to other recent home invasions in the area.

An investigation is ongoing.
