Providence police: 15-year-old fatally shot on March Street

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said they’re investigating the shooting death of a teenager.

According to police, they responded to a call for a reported shooting on March Street at approximately 2:33 a.m. Saturday morning.

When first responders arrived on-scene, they said they found a 15-year-old who was fatally shot.

Officials said the teen was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the 15-year-old was identified as a runaway from New Hampshire.

No further information was immediately released.

ABC6 News crews were on the scene where a memorial was growing as family and friends were mourning the loss of the teen.
