Woman charged with DUI after Providence police cruiser crash that left 2 injured
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Two people were hospitalized, including a Providence police officer, after a crash early Friday morning.
The crash happened just after 1 a.m. on Charles Street, in front of the Home Depot.
Police on scene told ABC 6 News that a silver sedan tried to go around the cruiser, but ended up crashing it.

Both the officer and the driver of the silver car, later identified as Samiya Baez, were taken to the hospital with injuries that weren’t believed to be life threatening.
Police told ABC 6 that the 21-year-old was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, chemical test refusal, driving to endanger resulting in injury, and no valid license.
