Friends and family continue to light candles and pray for a man who was found murdered in a parking lot in Olneyville.

A Providence Police Officer discovered the body of 25-year-old Luis Arturo Padilla after following a trail of blood Monday morning in a Plainfield Street parking lot.

Police are treating Padilla’s death as a homicide.

“There certainly are circumstances where once the investigation played out, we determined that it wasn’t a homicide. But in this one, we are treating it as a homicide,” said Providence Police Chief Colonel Hugh Clements.

Officials aren’t releasing any details about how or why Padilla was killed.

Family and friends tell ABC6 that Padilla was a father.

This is the Providence‘s sixth homicide of the year.
