Providence police investigate armed carjacking in West End


PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Providence Police are investigating an armed carjacking early Sunday morning.

An officer met with the victim, a 29-year-old woman, near Homestead and Huntington Avenue just after 3 a.m.

The woman told police that her and her passenger, another 29-year-old woman, were confronted by a man in a black ski mask. He pointed a gun at the women and told them to get out of the car.

The suspect took off with the car.

The victim also noted to police she believed she observed the suspect get dropped off.

The car is described as a white 2012 Jeep Cherokee with an unknown Massachusetts temporary license plate.

Both women had person belongings inside of the car at the time of the carjacking, including purses, ID’s, and keys.

Providence Police are investigating.
