Providence police investigate bomb threat made to Brown University
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police confirmed they investigated a bomb threat made to Brown University.
Police said early Tuesday morning, they notified the college’s public safety department about a bomb threat directed to the Muslim Student Center.
Both departments said they sent officers to the building to inform students and search adjacent areas.
Providence Police said they also conducted an exterior search of nearby buildings with K-9 units.
Authorities confirmed to ABC6 News the sweep of the college campus resulted in no explosives being located.
Officials later deemed the campus was safe.
No further information was immediately released as the investigation remains ongoing.
