Providence Police investigating murder on Herschel St.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Providence Police detectives are investigating a homicide on Herschel Street.
According to Maj. David Lapatin, a man who is approximately 20-years-old was shot sometime before 7:00 p.m. and taken to Rhode Island Hospital by a private party.
The victim has since been pronounced deceased.
No suspect is in custody at this time. Police say it is unclear if the victim knew the shooter.
Police are still on-scene talking to witnesses and looking for evidence. Maj. Lapatin said it is unclear how many people were involved in the shooting, but he suspects there were several parties involved.
