Providence police investigate theft of 52 guns

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)– The Providence Police Department is investigating the theft of 52 firearms and a large quantity of ammunition from a residence on Hawkins Avenue.
The firearms consisted of both handguns and rifles, Commander Thomas Verdi told ABC6 News.
The owner of the guns, a resident of the home, alerted police to the theft, telling them it it had taken place over the course of 10 days.
Detectives continue to investigate, and a suspect has not been apprehended at this time, Verdi said.
