Providence Police search for suspects in two incidents

Providence Police are searching for suspects involved in two incidents that occurred Friday night.

Around 7:30 p.m., Police were called after a valet working outside of the Atwells Ave restaurant, Nami, said four males threatened him with a gun and stole a car he was parking.

The valet told police the suspects pointed a gun at him before demanding the keys of the white Volkswagon he was about to drive. They then fled with the vehicle, which was found later that night in a lot at 25 Tobey Street.

Around 8 p.m. the same night, a man was shot in the leg as he was getting into his vehicle in the area of Potters Avenue.

The victim told police he was leaving a friend’s house in the area when he was shot in the right shin. Police later found casings at the intersection of Potters and Gordon Avenues.

The victim’s injuries are non-life-threatening. Police are still investigating.
