PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A person was sent to the hospital Wednesday after two cars were chasing and shooting at each other.

The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. near Hartford Avenue and went through side streets and into Plainfield Street.

Providence Police Maj. David Lapatin said shots were fired between the two cars. There were about four to eight people involved.

Police said the car that was flipped was not involved in the chase.

The person that’s in the hospital doesn’t appear to have life-threatening injuries, said Lapatin.

Police said they were dealing with four different crime scenes at the time.

No further information was immediately released.
