Providence police still search for person accused of shooting man in front of auto store

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police said Monday they are still searching for the person who shot a man over the weekend.

The shooting happened on North Main Street in front of Action Auto Parts.

Police said two cars met at the Action Auto Parts parking lot and it appeared as though the victim and suspect were going to fight.

Maj. David Lapatin said the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim. Their relationship wasn’t immediately known.

The victim, whose name was not made available, is expected to survive.
