PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A director of a Providence recreation center was arrested Monday on child molestation charges.

Providence police said in late-March, a mother of a 13-year-old girl told police her daughter had been sexually assaulted on several occasions.

Police identified the man as Manuel Nunez, 43, of Cranston.

The victim was part of a youth basketball league that Nunez ran and sponsored.

Investigators said the assaults happened at a gym on Smith Street. Nunez was arrested Monday and charged with three counts of 1st degree child molestation.
