Providence Restaurant Weeks begins summer event

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ A two-week celebration of the restaurant scene in Providence has begun.
Providence Restaurant Weeks kicked off Sunday.
Participating restaurants will offer three-course prix fixe lunches and dinners July 12 through 25.
Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau President and CEO Martha Sheridan says the culinary scene in Providence is gaining national recognition.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the biannual event.
