Providence to celebrate ‘Pesticide Free PVD’ campaign

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – In celebration of Earth Day, the city of Providence is launching its “Pesticide Free PVD” campaign.

The campaign encourages residents, property owners, and businesses to commit themselves to eliminate the use of harmful chemicals such as pesticides and fertilizers in lawns and gardens.

The capital city wants residents to consider the potential negative impact on the environment, and look to build a healthy ecosystem, by taking the pledge to be pesticide-free.

The campaign will begin its official launch at 9:00 a.m on Thursday.
