Providence Woman Facing Hit-and-Run Charges
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – A Providence woman is facing charges in connection with a hit-and-run incident that sent two Brown University students to the hospital.
Police say a car struck the two students at about 11 p.m. Saturday night at Hope and Charlesfield streets, then left the scene.
An officer working a detail pulled over a speeding car a short time later and noticed it matched the description in the hit and run.
Police say 30-year-old Jessica Paden faces charges of reckless driving, attempting to elude; failure to stop in an accident resulting in personal injury; and driving while intoxicated.
The two Brown students remained in the hospital Sunday but are expected to survive.
