Providence’s beloved Wayland Bakery to close its doors this weekend
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — After being in business for over 90 years, Providence’s beloved Wayland Bakery will be closing its doors for good this weekend.
According to the bakery’s website, they first opened in 1928 and moved to 138 Wayland Ave. in 1960, where they continued to provide the community with decades of freshly baked cakes and pastries.
For the past 23 years, the business has been family-owned and operated by Luis Rodriguez and his wife Elizabeth.
It wasn’t immediately known why the bakery is closing this Saturday.
