Providence’s David Duke Jr. To Represent Home City in Pro Basketball

Providence native David Duke Jr. exploded onto the local hoop scene, leading his Classical Purple team past Bishop Hendricken in the Division I championship in 2016.

Since then, the city of Providence and the state of Rhode Island followed his ascension to tonight’s NBA Draft.

Duke starred at Providence College and declared for the draft after his junior season.

In an interview with ABC6 Sports Director Nick Coit, Duke took a look back at what playing basketball in his hometown has meant to him, and what carrying the flag for Providence will be like in the NBA.
