Quiet Friday Followed by a 50/50 Weekend

We will finish the week with the calm before the storm as Friday starts off with sunshine and cold lows in the 20s. Clouds will build in through the day but any precipitation should hold off until well after the late commute. Friday night we will see a mix of rain and snow that will last through about mid-morning Saturday before changing over to rain. In our corner of Southern New England, any accumulations will be minor – a coating to an inch. Sunday will be the clear winner of the weekend with lots of sunshine and highs in the mid-40s. The start of next week is looking stormy as well. We are expecting the development of a coastal storm that could make for locally heavy precipitation and high winds. Variables still in play are the track, timing and intensity. These storm variables will determine precipitation and intensity. As we go through the weekend, these variables should become more focused. As of Thursday night, it is looking more like wind-driven rain than snow. Stay tuned…
