PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – During a press conference Sunday afternoon, Marc Pappas, director of the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency, urged people to keep staying home despite the waning of Tropical Storm Henri.

“Stay home, stay safe, stay off the roads, stay tuned,” Pappas said. He emphasized that even if the weather seems to have cleared, there are still wires and trees down that could cause harm to cars and their drivers.

Additionally, Pappas said that National Grid and emergency response crews need the roads to be as clear as possible to do their work.

National Grid is already working to restore power to thousands of Rhode Islanders. To check the status of your county, click here.
