PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – A bill introduced by an R.I legislator could make it a criminal offense for business owners to make employees get a COVID-19 vaccination.

According to Providence Journal, the bill also touches on the refusal of hotel rooms to people who aren’t vaccinated.

The bill which specifically “Prohibits discrimination against individuals who refuse to be vaccinated”, was introduced by Thomas Noret, a Coventry Democrat.

If passed, this would also block the governor from making vaccination mandatory in states of emergency and the refusal of loans based on vaccination status, says Providence Journal.

The bill was brought forward on April 6, where the committee recommended it be held for further study.
