RailRiders Shut Out PawSox In Series Opener
Pawtucket Red Sox Press Release
PAWTUCKET, R.I. — Thanks to seven-shutout innings from Daniel Camarena, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (47-35) took game one of this three-game series at McCoy Stadium over the Pawtucket Red Sox (33-48) by a 5-1 final.
The RailRiders jumped on Erasmo Ramírez for three runs in the first inning. After Ramírez struck out the lead-off batter Mike Ford, Breyvic Valera drew a walk, Tyler Wade singled, and then Clint Frazier ripped a two-run double down the left-field line to open the scoring. Two batters later, Trey Amburgey blooped a double to right field to make it 3-0.
The PawSox did not score until the eighth inning, when Juan Centeno brought home Rusney Castillo with a groundout.
Making his first start of the year against Pawtucket, Camarena tossed seven-shutout innings and gave up just 2 hits. No Pawtucket runner got to second base against him. The southpaw faced the minimum through his first 6.2 innings.
