Rain and Wind Tonight
Overnight tonight we will continue the periods of locally heavy rain, gusty winds and thunderstorms. A WIND Advisory has been issued for tonight starting at 11pm for southern Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts, including the Cape and Islands for the potential for wind gusts near 50 mph.
Rainfall totals overnight could be up to an inch.
Through Friday morning, we will see the rain shut down and winds will relax. The afternoon will remain cloudy to mostly cloudy with a lingering breeze. Temperatures will drop off as well. Colder, more seasonable air arrives with sunshine for the weekend. Sunday morning in particular will be blustery and cold with wind chills in the teens. For the holiday on Monday, look for lots of sunshine and seasonable temperatures of lows in the lower teens and highs in the upper-30s. After tonight into early Friday, our next chance of precipitation looks to be on Thursday of next week. And it’s shaping up to once again be rain instead of snow.
