Rain Moves In Today, Heaviest Overnight

Waking up to mild conditions with clouds across the area this morning. As the day progresses we’ll be tracking a cold front approaching from the west. That front will keep us under overcast conditions with some scattered showers moving in as the day goes on. The rain during the day will be light. It will also become breezy with gusts over 25MPH possible out of the southwest. Highs will be in the upper 60s. It will be this evening and overnight that heavier rain moves through the area continuing into the morning hours on Saturday. In all 1-2″ of rain will be possible which would be beneficial to our area still struggling with drought conditions.

While Saturday starts with rain, it won’t rain all day. By late-morning/early afternoon we will begin to dry out and eventually clear out. Some sun can be expected for the second half of the day but it will be much cooler and still breezy. The wind will be coming in from the northwest which is cooler, highs only in the upper 50s.

Very chilly overnight into Sunday morning! With clear conditions and the breeze backing down, lows will dip into the mid to upper 30s for the Providence area, even cooler outside of the city, so areas of frost will certainly be possible. Sunday stays mainly sunny and cool with highs around 60°.

Partly sunny and more seasonable into the start of next week with morning temperatures in the mid 40s and afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
