Recall: Oscar’s smoke house cheese spread

A nationwide recall has been issued for the Oscar's smokehouse cheese spreads; the company is recalling eleven of it's 7oz varieties.

The recall was made after learning that the cheese spread maybe contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes which can cause illness, especially in pregnant women, adults with weakened immune systems and may cause fetal death according to the department of health.

The items recalled include:

-Jalapeno pepper cheddar spread, net wt 7 ozs.
-Cheddar spread & blue cheese, net wt 7 ozs.
-Champagne cheddar spread, net wt 7 ozs.
-Garlic cheddar spread, net wt 7 ozs.
-Port wine cheddar spread, net wt 7 ozs. -tangy horseradish cheddar spread, net wt 7 ozs.
-Plain cheddar spread, net wt 7 ozs.
-“More than” cheddar spread, net wt 7 ozs.
-Hickory smoked cheddar spread, net wt 7 ozs.
-Bacon & horseradish cheddar spread, net wt 7 ozs.
-Bacon cheddar spread, net wt 7 ozs.

All items recalled have which have a three digit lot number from 719-959 or that may have been purchase since March 21, 2013.

No illnesses have been reported to date with this problems according to the FDA.
