Anxious Red Sox fans have been marking off the days on the off season calendar, but opening day is finally here.

Many baseball fans began the trek to Fenway early this morning. Dozens packed onto trains leaving from the South Attleboro station as early as 8 this morning.

“Pure excitement– from
every different direction. Didn't get any sleep last night. We couldn't wait to
go to Fenway,” said Dave Isabel of Pawtucket.

“It's just electric. It's fun to go. It's just going to be
exciting to be there. Watch them get their rings,” said Steve Librandi of Warwick.

“I'm so excited about the ball game because it's the first
time in 40 years I've been to opening day,” said Bob Librandi also of Warwick.

The first pitch will be thrown at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon.
