Red Sox rally in 14

The Boston Red Sox survived a serious meltdown by closer Jonathan Papelbon and rallied on a run-scoring, two-out single by J.D. Drew in the 14th inning of their 9-8 win over the Oakland Athletics. Papelbon blew a four-run lead in the ninth.

Carl Crawford scored the winning run and had four hits and drove in three. Adrian Gonzalez had a solo homer and three hits for the Red Sox, who posted their 15th win in 20 games. Oakland has lost five in a row.
