Brandon Duckworth had been arguably the best pitcher in the I.L. through his first 3 outings. Duckworth was 2-0 with a 0.48 ERA. He didn't make it through the 4th inning on Wednesday night, though, as Lehigh Valley crushed the PawSox 8-2. Duckworth allowed all 8 runs (7 earned) on 6 hits and 5 walks. Matt Fox and Jason Rice pitched well in relief. Duckworths' ERA rose to 3.22 for the year.

Former Red Sox prospect Brandon Moss was 2-3 with 4 RBI. Moss added a sacrifice fly. Two other former Pawtucket players figured in the outcome. Shortstop Kevin Frandsen had 2 hits and reliever Juan Perez pitched a scoreless eighth inning with 2 strikeouts.

Josh Reddick continued his power surge, hitting a home run in his third straight game. Reddick has six for the season to lead the PawSox. Hector Luna went 3-4 with a run batted in.

The PawSox (12-8) will send Felix Doubront (0-0, 0.00) to the mound on Thursday night at 7:05 pm .
