Reed Announces $167K for RI Homeless Veterans

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – U.S. Sen. Jack Reed has announced $167,503 in federal funding for Rhode Island homeless veterans.

Reeds said Wednesday that the money will pay for 20 vouchers to defray rent costs for homeless veterans seeking to live in the Arc of Blackstone Valley Veterans for Tomorrow housing project in
Providence.

The 20-unit housing project is under construction. It's located near the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

The voucher funding is administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing program.
