Registered sex offender guilty of child porn charges for 3rd time

United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. (WLNE)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — United States Attorney Zachary Cunha said Thursday that a registered sex offender pled guilty on possessing child pornography for the third time.

Cunha said Christopher Skinner, 33, was previously faced charges for possessing child porn back in 2010 and 2014.

Cuhna said the Rhode Island State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was notified in January 2022 of six files of child sexual abuse material being uploaded. An investigation later found that the images uploaded had an IP address that led them to Skinner’s home.

Police also found 29 images containing child sexual abuse material in Skinner’s phone back in February, according to Cunha.

Skinner’s sentence will be determined after considering the US Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
