BROOKLYN (WLNE) — Boston Celtics suspended coach Ime Udoka could be back on the NBA sidelines in short order.

Several outlets including ESPN is reporting that Udoka could be taking over for Steve Nash who parted ways with the Brooklyn Nets Tuesday.

ESPN is reporting an official deal could be reached by Wednesday.

Udoka was suspended for the entire season by the Celtics after it was reported he had an inappropriate relationship with an orginization employee.

Boston named Rhode Island native Joe Mazzulla interim head coach for the season.

If Udoka leaves for Brooklyn, Mazzulla would likely drop the interim tag.

Neither the Nets nor the Celtics have commented on the matter.
