Reported fire at former power plant in Somerset

SOMERSET, MASS (WLNE) – A fire was reported at the Brayton Point plant on Monday. 

According to the Somerset Fire Department, the fire happened at 10:07 a.m. 

Somerset police blocked off roads that lead to plant as the firefighters were putting out the smoky fire. 

The exact location of the fire is uncertain, and no injuries have been reported at this time. 

The former coal-fired power plant is scheduled for demolition on April 27th.

The chimneys were knocked down on March 24th.
