Revs Lose in Second Round of US Open Cup Qualifying

HARRISON, N.J. (AP) – John Wolyniec scored once in each half and

led the New York Red Bulls to a 3-0 victory over the New England

Revolution in the second round of U.S Open Cup qualifying on

Wednesday night.

The Red Bulls advance to face the Colorado Rapids on May 26 at

Red Bull Arena.

Wolyniec, who made his MLS debut with the New York franchise in

1999 and has had three stints with it, got the Red Bulls on the

board in the 36th minute.

Wolyniec followed up a shot that was blocked by defender Chris

Tierney, but Wolyniec stayed with the play and pushed it past

sprawling goalkeeper Bob Shuttleworth for the first goal.

Sinisa Ubiparipovic scored in the 62nd minute, blasting it home

from 27 yards out.

Two minutes later, Wolyniec scored his second goal.
