A reward is now being offered for any information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of someone who vandalized an Islamic School last month.

The FBI, West Warwick Police and the West Warwick Town Council announced Friday they are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of the person responsible for this vandalism.

The Islamic School of Rhode Island was vandalized sometime between 9:30 p.m. on February 13th and 7:30 a.m. on February 15th when someone tagged the doors and walls in bright orange spray paint. The hurtful words were discovered Sunday morning by school leaders. They include mention of a ‘hate crime’.

Surveillance photos released by law enforcement show the suspect wearing a hooded sweatshirt, possibly gray, and the hood and shoulders have the appearance of being wet with melted snow from being outside while committing the act during a snowstorm.

Anyone with information should call the FBI at 1-401-272-8310 or the West Warwick Police Department at 401-827-9044. Tips can also be submitted electronically at tips.fbi.gov
